Our typical week at COA looks like this:


MONDAY

8:30 Volunteers start preparing lunch
Volunteer drivers & helpers pick up and deliver meals
10:00 The crowd starts gathering in the hall
11:00 - 12:00 Jewish History Shiur in the Library
12:00 - 1:00 Torah Shiur in the Library
12:30 Lunch is served
1:00 Entertainment - lecture, music, movie
2:00 Lifts home begin
Small group activities and games
5:30 COA closes



TUESDAY

9:45 Group outing for a walk and meal in company
10:00 First computer lesson for the day begins
10:00 - 1:00 Bridge for groups of four players
1:00 - 3:00 Indoor Bowling Green for all levels of player
1:30 Group returns from outing
5:00 Last computer lesson for the day ends
5:30 COA closes



WEDNESDAY

8:30 CBM Volunteers start preparing lunches
Volunteer drivers & helpers pick up and deliver meals
10:00 The crowd starts gathering in the hall
11:00 - 12:00 Yiddish Class in the library
12:30 Lunch is served
Entertainment - entertainer, music, movie
2:00 Tai Chi class
Fortnightly French Conversation Group
Lifts home begin
Small group actitivies and games
5:30 COA closes



THURSDAY

10:00 First computer lesson for the day begins
11:00 - 12:00 Exercise Class for ladies and gents
12:30 - 3:00 Movie on the BIG Screen
5:00 Last computer lesson for the day ends
5:30 COA closes



FRIDAY

8:30 Volunteer drivers & helpers pick up and deliver meals
9:30 - 12:00 Contract Bridge with instruction for new players
12:00 - 2:00 Small group actitivies and games
2:00 COA closes



Special Events
A Birthday Party is held every three months for people born in that quarter. These are huge events with special foods, music, raffles and lots of people to mingle with.

Jewish Festivals are celebrated at COA with special concerts and the appropriate foods for that festival, whether it be Matzo, Hamantashen or Doughnuts.


Groups and Activities
Our program includes lots of different smaller group activities, including:
  • French and Yiddish groups
  • Exercise classes
  • Computer lessons
  • Lawn Bowling on indoor green
  • Contract bridge and small group bridge
  • Movies on the BIG Screen
  • Shiurim with the Rabbi
  • Small Group Outings
  • Knitting in company
  • Talks on all manner of subjects - e.g. health, religion, travel.
