COA has been supplying festival parcels  for many years, to all sorts of people in our community.

To meals on wheels recipients and those who come to our Centre, to retirement villages like B’nai B’rith Retirement Village in Rose Bay, to Jewish residents in non-denominational aged care facilities, and more substantial parcels are delivered to those in our community who are really doing it tough.

The preparation starts in the months before the High Holidays as foods with long shelf-life and items special to the festival are purchased to fill the bags. Then the delivery routes are planned and a small army of volunteers helps to pack the parcels and    deliver them in the week before Rosh Hashanah.

Last year we delivered upward of 700 Rosh Hashanah bags and this year it is going to be even more! Kudos to Chief Operations Officer Sabina Kovadlo and the volunteers who make this happen.
