COVID-19 Response COVID Shuts Down COA Activities - Updated Wednesday 5th January 2022 Due to the latest very infectious strain of COVID we have ceased all programmed activities at the COA Centre. We are still delivering Kosher Meals-on-Wheels and COA Fresh, Shalom Connect volunteers are still making calls to members, and Tech Connect is still available, but all other COA activities are on hold until such time as we can open our doors again. When COA Centre opens again we will be following the COVID restrictions set out below, as well as asking for proof of double vaccination and asking you to scan the COA's QR Code on entry to the Centre (QR code is displayed on COA's front and back doors and at reception desk). If you do not have capability of scanning the QR code you must either produce your own QR code (provided for seniors by Service NSW) or allow us to take down your name and phone number for the purpose of logging you in. COPING WITH LOCKDOWN We know COVID-19 has been incredibly difficult for many of you. Even those who are fortunate enough to be coping well with all the pandemic-related changes undoubtedly have friends who have had a hard time. That’s why the Department of Health is running a hotline. If you need support or have questions you can call the FREE Older Persons COVID-19 Support Line on 1800 171 866. And of course, for ongoing support, let COA know and we can arrange for one of our social workers to speak to you or arrange for one of our friendly volunteers to call you weekly or daily for a chat through COA’s Shalom Connect program.
