Every Friday, our dedicated volunteers travel to aged care facilities across Sydney, carrying more than just candles and wine. They bring the joy of Shabbat to Jewish residents who might otherwise spend these sacred moments alone. Picture the smile on someone’s face when familiar prayers fill the room, or the tears of joy when the shofar sounds on Rosh Hashana – moments that transform both giver and receiver.

Our volunteers don’t just perform rituals; they create genuine connections. They remember names, share stories, and ensure that Jewish festivals come alive even in non-Jewish facilities. From lighting Shabbat candles to celebrating Passover, these visits restore dignity and joy to some of our community’s most vulnerable members.
