Art Class

Held every Tuesday and Wednesday from 10am-11:30am, it costs $10 per class to participate, which may be charged in bulk in advance.

The class is led by a professional art therapist and teacher, and all levels of artistic skill are encouraged to join.

This class has led to some breakthrough work from participants, including some who had never tried painting before. It includes pursuing
private projects as well as whole class activities to improve and hone peoples existing skills.

During school holidays regular attendees are encouraged to bring in their school age grandchildren for a wonderful inter-generational morning of creativity.

This class, and the great works produced, led to COA’s annual art shows, now presented in partnership with B’nai B’rith in June, so that art class participants, and many others from around the community, have an opportunity to show and sell their works.

Moadon Art Show 2023

Annually Moadon (also known as the Jewish Folk Centre) holds a community art exhibition in their Centre on Rowe St. This year COA joined in with a table advertising our sensational art class and selling packs of greeting cards made by regulars at the art classes on Tuesdays at COA.
New General Manager for COA

COA has hired Robbie Clifford to take the role of General Manger at COA. Robbie was our volunteer coordinator during COVID and we are so pleased he has decided to join us again this time as our GM.
Chanukah is still a time to Celebrate

Club COA

Every Monday & Wednesday get together with friends at the Burger Centre for coffee, play games, read the paper or chat, enjoy chair exercises, lunch in company and dance to live music in the afternoon.
Bridge

Bridge is an ever popular game for seniors, as it takes an agile mind to be successful. If you are a new player we have lessons available at COA every week. as well as duplicate Bridge for more experienced players.
Supper Club

Supper Club is a bi-monthly get together for "younger seniors" and includes a delicious kosher meal, and a speaker providing a topic of interest which participants can discuss with the speaker in a Q&A session after the talk is done.
Bus Outings

Spend a day with COA friends discovering the prettiest spots in Sydney. This service is being hosted by the Burger Centre so please contact them to book your place or for any queries about the outing

Kosher meals on wheels

COA's Kosher Meals are made by professional Kosher caterers and delivered to recipients homes by our friendly and dedicated volunteers. There is a large menu to choose from and every meal delivered is subsidised by COA, so why not check the menu and see if this service may be right for you.
Our staff

COA is manned by a small paid staff who work hand in glove with over 200 active volunteers; coordinating and delivering services, providing organisational administration, taking enquiries from members, and ensuring compliance with government guidelines.

What we do

COA is a not-for-profit organisation in Eastern Sydney caring for the needs of Jewish and other seniors. We live our ethos by providing our clients connection to a social network of peers, activities in large and small groups 6 days weekly, and opportunities to access volunteer work, services, and support, to remain independently in their own homes for as long as practical. In all possible ways we aim to enrich the lives of Jewish seniors.
Management Committee

COA is governed by a volunteer Committee of Management whose members provide daily support to staff with running of activities, administration processes, and governance at the COA Centre. They determine our strategies going forward and ensure COA can provide the best quality services possible while remaining financially and legally secure.

COA Centre Activities

As COA undergoes a transformation some of our usual activities offered at the COA Krygier Centre have moved offsite, whilst others remain at the Centre, and new activities will be added as they become available.

COA Fresh

COA Fresh is a weekly delivery of fresh produce and other items going to over 200 homes in our community. The program helps to provide food security to those who are unable to attend the shops and may not have the finances to afford fresh fruit and vegetables each week.
